Figure 3.  Normal CD4 and CD8 T cells will grow in low concentrations of IL2, but require high concentrations of IL15
CD4 and CD8 T cells were purified from adult spleen and activated by culturing for 1 day with
ConA.  They were then washed and cultured for a further 3 days in medium containing serial
dilutions of IL2 or IL15.
Conclusions
1.  In contrast to immature and mature NK cells, CD4 and CD8 T cells grow efficiently at low [20pM]
concentrations of IL2.
2.  However, approximately 1000 fold higher doses of IL15 are required for a similar level of growth.
