Research Interests

My research interests are in the formalism of quantum field theory and its applications. Much of my work has been concerned with quantum field theory in curved spacetime and I am currently involved in a two volume set of books in collaboration with L. Parker and B. L. Hu which treats this subject in extensive detail.

Some of my recent work has focussed on quantum field theory at finite temperature, and particularly the application to Bose-Einstein condensation.

My most recent interests are centred around Kaluza-Klein theory, based on the idea that there are extra spatial dimensions beyond the three obvious ones. There has been a lot of recent work on the Randall-Sundrum and related models based on 5-dimensional spacetimes. My most recent research is concerned with quantum field theory in such spacetimes.

Full details can be found in my  list of publications.
