NEWS: Newcastle has been successful in obtaining an EPSRC Frontier Engineering award. We will be advertising for biological and computational modellers very soon. I will also be looking to appoint a computational statistician for this project during 2014. Please email me if you are interested in any of these positions.

This is the web site of Darren Wilkinson. I am Professor of Stochastic Modelling in the School of Mathematics & Statistics at Newcastle University. I am also a member of CISBAN and CSBB. I recently held a BBSRC Research Development Fellowship, to study noise, stochasticity and heterogeneity in model biological systems.

You can navigate to different sections of this site using the buttons above. You can always return to this page by clicking on the button marked HOME.

The research section contains information on my research interests and research projects that I am involved with, together with my publications list and a list of invited talks I've given recently (slides, audio and video are available for some of these). The section on teaching has a link to some lecture notes I've written. There is a section devoted to the free software that I have developed over the years, most of which is closely related to my research interests. My contact details are available from the section on personal information, along with a brief biography, and a list of my professional duties. There is also a section of the site devoted to my textbook, Stochastic Modelling for Systems Biology. I also have a research blog separate from the main web site.
