Dr. Eileen Yu's
Research Group is based in the School of
Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials at
Newcastle University. Our research interests can
be broadly defined into two areas.
- Solving the
approaching energy crisis by focusing on the
emerging fields of Microbial
and Enzymatic
Fuel Cells
- Aiding disease
prevention, detection and monitoring by creating
novel cutting edge Biosensors
and Nanomaterials
in collaboration with several industrial
partners.
The
group specialises in interdisciplinary research
consisting of electrochemistry, biological
science, materials science, biotechnology and
electroorganic synthesis. Our research is mainly
conducted across two laboratories and we have
access to several other facilities, both within
the department and the throughout the university.
