(Letter from Jane Little to her husband Robert Little.)

May 20th 1866

Dearest Robert

you will be thinking I am long in answering your letter but you must excuse me this time we are all quite well hopping this will find you enjoying the same great blessing thank god for his goodness to us all. I may tell you tht peter came home yesterday and they are all away at the churk today peter is not hired yet I may tell you that John Moffat Inidiknock died yesterday and he is to be buried on the hiring day morning he has had a great deal of suffereing he was preyed for in the church last sabbeth day. I am going to talk about something else now I often wonder what kind of house you have got it will be some old passek you will be thinking it is nice enough for me as so it will you want it if I had it vast things coming I will not have many things coming nor I think you can expect it but it will not be ready for the term but you will have to try and come and get the boy baptised if you possibly can and come as soon as you can get away and the sooner the better but will go up to rev Bryce and hear what he says and I will rite you again this week I will say more the next time I rite.

I think it a dear rent for the house you did not tell me what wage you had if it is is no bigger than the last it is no great thing. I would like to know what kind of Bed if it is like the ones we have have for I like them kind best but you can get any kind you like they are all ill about us going away but it is as well we have got a house and then we are burden on no person I think I will close now I will rite you more soon so no more at present
