This is an important area for research in the field of agricultural economics and food marketing, especially in the context of enlargement of the EU and CAP reform. I am currently engaged in three CEE research projects:

2. Small and medium sized enterprises and rural development.
I have an interest in the growth and performance of small and
medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in rural localities within the UK.
In line with this, I am involved in a Centre for Rural Economy (CRE) project
on rural microbusinesses in the north-east of England.
