The computer screen has a large number of low quality key images from the video disc which link the dissection sequences together. You click on the computer screen and a short piece of dissection is shown on the video monitor, while the computer screen goes black. When the video is finished (length ranges between 0.5s to 25s) the computer screen clears to reveal a key frame from where the video stopped. The learner may now choose whether to look around, self-test, get information, go somewhere else or click on some part of the image to see the dissection in that area.

[These MPEGS are maximally encoded (i.e.poor quality) 12fps. I use monitors=000's of colours with Sparkle v.2.3.5+ ('show all frames') configured as my external MPEG helper on the Macintosh for high quality,

Figure 1. Example of the early part of the Male dissection with just the dissection available. Depending on the settings, the software shows the appropriate video clip when you click on a part of the dissection image on the computer screen.

If you are in Above View of the Male rat on the computer screen, you are shown the first of the two example MPEG clips when you click on the abdomen of the male rat. If you are in Side View of the Male rat you see the second MPEG sequence. The Female rat is not shown here. In this example of clickable WWW maps, some other areas, such as Help, Map and Go Back, are also 'live', but the more specific interactive Tools are not.
