
When the mortar arrived they set to with gusto, full of busy.

But as they opened up pack after pack of foundation blocks they found them broken inside.
You can see the piles of what they called "cut blocks", top left and on the right.
So they had to stop with a hopper full of mortar unused at about 1pm.
Further unhappy news when after they left I decided to check dimensions and right angles.
The top row of blocks was not at right angles to the left row.
I must explain about the Pythagorus (582BC - 496BC Greek) statement about
the sum of the squares on the sides of a right angled triangle.
Further, the distance between the top and bottom row of blocks is too much, by about 100mm.
When they were setting out the blockwork, I though I would not do it that way.
But they are the professionals, I'm just an amateur, I'm paying them to do the job.
So did not intervene, wish I had.
The precision of the dimensions of the brickwork that is constructed on the blockwork
that the log timber building that is Computer Aided Designed/Computer Automated Machinery made
sits on, has to be within millimetres. I did explain that before we started but ...
