There are two sewers crossing the garden.
A public sewer
comes from where the ivy is growing on the wall to going
under the blue post,
and the other is a private sewer coming from the corner of the house to the same chamber
near where the photograph is being taken.
The sewers have to be diverted down the line of the wooden fence
to a new chamber
then at right angles to the existing chamber.
