A real drains day.
Kevin dug a trench from the house to the road for the electricity and water supplies.
In the way was an enourmouse piece of concrete that enclosed the old sewer.
In the middle of this we had a visit by a pit pony trailing 20 metres of chain.
It was quite strong, Margie had a problem holding him, but we chained him to a lamp post
on the old railway line where it chomped into the grass as if starving.
A bit after, a policeman turned up looking for stray pony, we took him to it.

This is the two ducts, one for electricity and the other for water.
We are not having a gas supply but will need a telephone connection.
Here is the drains, this is where the foul water goes, down to the new sewer chamber.
This now is the moment of truth. We have the red pipe-pressure tester, but before the
ground water heat source pipes can be completely buried they have to be pressure tested at
6 bar for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Gary is here putting water into the ground water pipework.
After a lot of hand pumping, we all took turns, the pressure was up to 6 BAR.
It took quite a time because I think there was air in the pipework which had to be compressed.

Finally Kevin was given the go ahead to bury the joints we had made.
If the pressure had not held we would have to have found where the leak was and fixed it.
We only got the adaptors to connect to the pipework from Mervin via next day delivery this morning
and I drove off to Crosslings for an adaptor to connect the pressure tester to the pipe adaptors,
you would not believe how slow people can drive, I wanted a Centurian tank to get through the traffic.
Kevin & Co finished laying the drains and levelling the soil as best they could.
There is still a lot to do to make a garden but the soil is frozen solid so it will have to wait
for frost, rain, frost, rain, ... to settle the disturbed soil.

The other important milestone was the signing of the log drawings and delivery back to Anne
to send to Artichouse the factory where they can commit our house to the production line.
