The shaped roof logs had to be knotched to take the ridge beam.
John cut the knotches -

Chiselling

then Tony chiselled them out.

Sawing

Tony did a couple of decorative cuts of the laminated ridge beam.
You can see what a gorgiouse day it was and the time of year.

Start of Lift

Nick and Tahir came over from the farm to give a hand
so there was five of us. Margie wielded the camera.

Then finally pushed up to knotches and tipped in.

At the end of the day they got the rest of the roof logs up
and the steel threaded rods through clamping the logs tight together,
and were beginning to play with rafters.
