John and Tony soon got the site ready for the delivery and then had time to erect more logs.

They even put up log 2A23, the last problem log needing a butt joint, top A log.

A view from the garage, lovely sunny day, but tony's fingers are frozen.

They were going to leave the last two full length logs for Kimmo and Matti,
but neither John Young (the telelever driver), nor the delivery vehicle had turned up,
so they had no excuse. By now I was getting worried, even phoned up Nick to make sure it was delivery day.
Telephoned the delivery firm at 10:30, they said the wagon had passed Darlington at 10:20.
Then John phoned, he had had an off road experience up near Alnwick, black ice, but was on his way.

John arrived 10:45, 11:45 the wagon arrived, phew! My worries are over.

Soon John was busy offloading the packages, just half the wagon was our load.
Tony watched seeing what was what, and so had to go where, and in what order.

The packages were spread around up near where the coal mine level crossing used to be.
We are lucky to have such space available. The two clear plastic wrapped packages are windows.

Then John brought the packages down one by one, wriggling around lamp post and electricity poles.

The biggest package had to be lifted with slings and telelevered into position,
the machine was too big to enter the garden now that the garage was built.

This package is the flat packed staircase. Needed much later, so it was to be stored furthest away,
in my SAAB garage. My car will be outside :-(

Once again the JCB was too big to get right in, and a lot of nudging was involved to get it in to the garage and under cover.

We hoped to have the street clear of cars but one escaped our request, and knocking on door aroused no one.
But John shimmied around it and the sychamore tree, and the lamp post.

The floor boards needed to go into Margie's garage. Just then a snow flurry started.
I feared we might be soon deep in snow.

But not so, it soon passed and the sun shone and the second pack of floor boards was placed.
The four wheel steering of the telelever was invaluable.

Soon after John Young went, job done. But Tony and John had work to do.
Most of the wood today was internal wood and it was important to protect it from the weather.
So they carried it in to the garage. I could not help, I would have been in the way.
All I could do was tidy up and provide cups of coffee.

Here are the windows, unpacked, undercover, in the end of the new garage.
That is my multiple reflection in the multiple window panes.

John and Tony managed to store the floor boards in Margie's garage.
I said when they started there was not enough space, but I think they wanted to prove me wrong.

Here is the stair in the place of my car.

Here is the site at the end of the day, everyone gone. Still two packs of internal wood outside,
but well wrapped, we will get them under cover tomorrow.
