Kimmo and Matti were out there about 8am, John was earlier as usual, Tony later as usual,
and although sunny, again very cold, but above all dry.

The vapour-permeable membrane came at 10:15 much to everybody's relief,
it came via Burton Roofing in Newcastle, from KLOBER Limited in Loughborough.
If it had not come four people would have been doing nothing.
Much is due to Margie's umpteen telephone calls on Wednesday.
Straight away Tony and John were stapling it to the inside of the logs.

At the same time Matti and Kimmo were setting out the ground floor joists.
They did it to one millimeter accuracy both vertically and horizontally.
Oh! that white bit of membrane was got from Redhead Roofing because we ran out.

This is the floor joists and the sole plate of the timber frame house on top.
The floor joists are nailed to the logs by 5 nails (from a nail-gun)
The sole plate is fixed via 3 nails to each joist.
Underneath the joist is the felt packing to level it to millimeter precision.

This is just one of the standard views (SE) to chart the progress of the house.
