Not Much Today but fan mail!

Not much today. Weather forecast was for snow showers, and overnight there was.

So in the morning, rather than trying to install more insulation, they moved 8' x 4' chip boards
down to ground floor to make a work area for a bench saw so as to make a gable wall.
Here it is from the inside. Much of the timber in between is just temporary working platform.
Beyond all that is the new gable wall with two window apertures for the two bedrooms.

In the meantime Margie is chasing up the missing 16 packets of insulation.
I am trying to contact a flue man to arrange the flue exit through the tiles,
and Margie is creating the lunch meal for the Finns,
and I am rehearsing the payment of £6000 in EUROs to Kimmo's bank account in Finland, plus
buying more Strong White and Wholemeal bread flower because we are making a loaf a day.

This is the standard SE view, the gable end is there nearly up to adding the wood cladding.

Kimmo & Matti have been here for a day over two weeks. He wants to weather proof the house,
before they leave. That means tiling the roof, cladding everything above the logs,
and fitting all external doors and windows. They have their flight tickets home already for the 30th March.
Thirteen working days before he and Matti leaves.

Whatever happens, we are quite delighted with Kimmo and Matti working on our house.
They get up before first light, sort themselves a breakfast: toast; ham; cheese; tomato; porridge; coffee/tea
and start work at first light. Marge and I, mean-while pull the duvet up to our ears
and wait to hear the banging of nails and sawing before we stir ourselves.

Then in the evening Margie and I have a meal at 6pm and leave the way clear for them.
They eat a similar meal to their breakfast: toast, cheese, ham, muesli.

So another day ends and I update the blog for you to read.

We had our first bit of fan mail today from Andrew & stef in Clonmel, Co tipperary, Ireland. Thankyou.
They are considering building their own Log Home, found us via Google.
