Ready for the Roofer

The eaves consist of four pieces of wood each fixed with screws to the rafters.
The eaves wood is internal quality, we are just going to fix guttering to it.
I had an email from Sustainable Buildings & Homes Ltd saying the the guttering is on order
and should arrive in a few days. I want it before the scaffolding goes.

Whilst Matti and Kimmo worked up above in the cold wind and wintery showers ...

... tony worked below in relative shelter cutting the wood for them.

The gable end structure consists of the 150mm wood framework to which is fixed a breathable
windproof fibre board. 25mm thick lathes are then nailed on the board to each upright frame.
To this is nailed the tongued and grooved boarding which is the outer layer.

Here is the south gable end, just about complete at 6pm.
What will tomorrow bring? I have left a message with the roofers to start anytime,
too much to hope tomorrow, but not to worry the roof is waterproof.
So they could start on fitting external windows and doors!
Making the whole thing weatherproof so we could get plumbers and electricians in
after enough stud wall framework is erected.
But I think we want to install the wall insulation and vapour proof lining first.
The Finns fly from Newcastle on the 30th, just eight days more work out of them.
If we get external doors and windows, wall/ceiling insulation, and vapour check lining installed
I shall be delighted.
Internal stud wall framing, too much to hope for.
