First Window

Tony worked alone inserting noggins between the outer gable end rafters
ready to make the soffit,

and finishing off neatly the corners above the logs. That corner piece of wood he supplied.
About this time Stephen from Readhead Roofing came to check on what we had leftover from tiling the garage.

Meanwhile Matti and Kimmo started inserting widows.
I in the meantime I am sourcing about 100 meters of beading, and trying to obtain 120mm screws.
Had to try three building suppliers before finding the screws.

They had setup a workshop down below, so they could work in any weather.
But the morning was bright warm sunshine, clouded a little in the afternoon, but no rain.

Here is the first window installed, in what will be the bathroom.

It is in two parts, the glass and the ventilation.
Here the glass is closed and the ventilation panel is open.
It has louvres outside, then an insect screen, finally the solid door inside.

Todays meal was :
Home made Leek (from the garden) and Potato Soup with toasted home made bread
Moussaka, Diced Swede, and Boiled Potatoes with Parsley
Pudding was a complete cheat, Chocolate Sponge from a tin, one & a half minutes in the microwave.

We left for our evening class at 6:30pm and they were still working in the gloom.
When we came back at 9:45pm, we checked, and all the windows were in upstairs.
