Things Wrong.

Steady work going on but not much to provide pictures for the blog.
Lots of noggins being inserted so that the plasterers can fix the boards all round the edges.

Then on to fitting the surrounds to the doors when a fault was found in the French windows on the South side.
One of the doors was hinged 4mm too low. It would close but you had to lift it when a gap appeared in the hinge.
So Tony and John asked if I had some washers, I showed them my collection and they selected some,
if you look closely the bottom hinge has the washers in raising the door.
They then refixed the other three hinges and finally removed the washers and fixed the fourth hinge.

Meanwhile I am working to get the stove onto the plinth so that I can erect the flue.
But something is wrong, the blue string of the plumb line is where the centre of the flue has to be,
it is too near the edge of the plinth! It is supposed to sit inside the brick curb. No way can it

The brick curb had to go, (Tony didn't like it anyway). So I concreted the whole plinth with no curb.
The stove will sit 10mm from the rear of the plinth giving maximum space in front of it.
Almost as it has to be.

John and Tony fitted the Dado rail. Here is a section of it.
Below it will be wood cladding, above it plaster.

We have got the wood for our window sills from John Storey the Joiner at Brunswick Green, he has no website,
he is far too busy to attract more work. Anyway I might need him. So don't find him.
This must be the the first time when a web-site says do not use this firm, it is too good.
Here is Margie staining the window sills. It is hardwood from Africa.

The other interesting thing is that Tony & John have run out of work for us,
until after the plasterers have finished. The next thing is for the plumber to do his first fix beginning the 13th,
then the plasterers come in and we stand back, for at least 3 weeks, and what a mess they will make!
