23rd July 2006. Weather absolutely glorious. In fact a bit too hot.
(I said that exactly two weeks ago on the last blog update.)
Great hay making weather, and good for working inside the new house.

18th July 2006. Two vehicles from Enterprise plc, a lorry and a white van turn up.
They erect a new telephone pole, just for us, and fix a telephone line to the new house.

19th, next day, 25boards of Kingspan insulation delivered by John from Sheffield Insulation.

Same day, Margie and I finish emulsioning the Living/Dining room.
We decided to get professionals in to do the rest of the house. There are ten more rooms to do.
It is too much hard work for us, we could do it, but would take an age. There are other things for us to do.

Next day, 20th July, Roger turns up to install our electricity meter.
He has a head LED torch, very clever. The meter is new technolgy stuff.

Next day, 21st July, I finish laying the 60mm Kingspan insulation.
I need to buy another pack of Rockwall, just to fill in bits and pieces at ground floor.
You cannot have too much insulation.

Sunday 23rd July 2006. I cut the grooves through the ground floor joists for underfloor heating pipes.
In the centre is the router, it is a monster of a beast.
It weighs 6.2kg. Spins at 26,000 rpm. Is 96.7dB(A) noisy, sound protection measures are necessary.
It cuts the grooves through the floor joists at 19mm deep.
The trick is, not to do it all at once. Set up half a dozen to do. Do them at half depth.
Then setup again to do them all a full depth.
Do it that way because spinning up to 26,000rpm takes a while.

Oh! This is here because a few weeks ago I gave this to Lea, a bricklayer, to build us a new entrance.
That is his fingers. I have left recorded messages on his telephone.
But to no avail. Perhaps he is on holiday. I would like a new entrance.
It would be good now to get several things done at once, instead of one by one.
