Yesterday David Graham arrived at 8am. I got up in dressing gown and wellies to open up for him.

Here he is beginning work. This is the before photograph.
Although the kitchen units have not been delivered he is busy marking out
and inserting noggins in the walls to secure the units to. He has a plan to work to.

The units arrive at 11:45 carried by Christian Salvesen, www.salvesen.com, from Germany.
They were very good, telephoning beforehand to see if there were any problems,
and a letter a few days before confirming details of delivery.

Here David has removed all the drawers from the units. The units were pre-assembled in Germany
none of this flat pack, assemble it yourself, it is assembled in the factory.
There are 24 drawers, we like drawers, don't like cupboards, you cannot see to the back.

Then at 15:30 the kitchen appliances were delivered by John Lewis.
Once again, a neat, clean delivery.

This is the end of Monday. All the units are in place

By the end of Tuesday it is all but done, the Hob Hood is above my head
There are electrical connections to be made,
2 cupboard doors 400mm CLEAR GLASS are missing
2 drawer handles are missing
2 cupboard doors 500mm have obscured glass, not CLEAR GLASS
Margie's Triflow Dedicated Drinking Water Tap and the Sink Mixer Tap are not new:
both are missing bits, and the packaging is used/frayed.
The major thing to be done is the Corian Worktop.
Someone from Corian will come and make a template of each worktop.
But, basically, we are very pleased with John Lewis and David Graham,
we are sure the bits wrong will be corrected.
The quality of the gear quietly impresses. I love the way the drawers close,
you push them shut, they almost shut, then pause and quietly close themselves.
It is made by www.blum.com an Austrian company.
We have also chosen:
A Siemens Dishwasher, stainless steel front,
A Neff Double Oven, stainless steel,
A John Lewis Cooker Hood, stainless steel,
and a Neff Ceramic Hob.
The Theme is Shaker Style cream units, stainless steel fittings,
Finnish finish floor, and plain plaster wall and ceiling.
