We Got a Bathroom

But before the bathroom we got a gate. I am aware it is a week since the last update.
So although not much done, this update lets you know we are still on the job.

This is the state of the garage after making the gate.
I used the Stirling Board as a template to make 90 degree corners.

Here is the gate in place and treated with the same OSMO wood treatment as used on the house.
The frame is 100mm x 50mm timber, glued and screwed, 5 screws in six half lap joints.
The panelling is the same tounged and grooved cladding as used on the house.
It is nice having a gate. Before we had to lift and swing open the HERUS fencing.

Although I say it myself, it is a nice gate. It is all sanded and touchy feel nice.

Now the bathroom. We had constructed the shower using wetboard rather than tiling.
The wetboards are 8' by 4', (or actually 2421mm by 1200mm, some EU/French conspiracy to undermine
our British values and lower us to their level. They'll have us driving on the RIGHT next.)
So there were offcuts. We used the offcuts to make splash-backs around the bath and sink.

Here is the setup, using a balk of timber, a pallet, and a QUICK GRIP not to grip but to push
a bit of wet wall in place using NO-NAILS and silicon sealer.

Here is the bathroom, as promised. It needs a picture or two to add some colour,
a bit of furniture, and some towels and bath mats, but the second essential room before we can move in.
(The shower is mains pressure, finger nail cleaning blast, if only it was hot.)

The last thing we need before we move in is, hot water. And that is scheduled for Monday 23rd October.
That is when the Ground Water Heat Pump will be installed and commissioned.
If the electricians have not completed the under floor heating wiring by next Wednesday,
I will do it myself, even though not qualified. Because it has to be done for the commissioning
of the heat pump.
