Garage Door and more.

Bob (the sparks) turned up as I was opening up in dressing gown and wellies

By 12:17 he was well into the job. The heart of the underfoor heating controls
are in the hot water tank cupboard in the bathroom. He has had time to create quite a mess.

By 3pm he had finished, the mess tidied up.
But it will be a giddy marvel if it works on Monday. I think he is going to turn his mobile off.

At 12:15 the garage door team arrived from Nortech.
When they arrived it was torrential rain of Noah's ark proportions,
so they backed their van up close to the garage.
They worked as a two man and a boy team
in such a smooth way that can only come from having erected many garage doors.

This is the finished job, (taken in the evening), it looks good, and it works.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating though, will I still think it a good job a year from now?
I am quietly confident, the materials and workmanship looked good.

The garage door and electrics were yesterday, Friday, today the kitchen got finished.
Gordon and another turned up in dark grey suits with three doors, we only need two.
At least they were clear glass. Here the job is done.
Except we have to read the manuals for the hob, oven/grill, and dishwasher.

This is a detail shot of the Corian Worktop. It is absolutely seamless. No gaps for germs.
The Corian is a manmade material which is patterned the whole way through,
no substrate with a surface finish. It can be chemically glued together seamlessly,
except as with the sink where two different coloured Corian are bonded.

On the right edge you can make out the lip. On the left, the raised upstand.
The mixer tap I wanted so I can wash things at the temperature my hands like
but Margie did not want to have to run the mixer tap on cold setting before getting a glass of water to drink.
So behind the mixer tap is drinking water tap, underneath it a filter, so to deliver pure water.
