Next crossing is another sewer and golf buggy bridge, this is the upstream view.
After 1018mm of rain this is the view:
No wonder there are no housing estates here it is a flood plain.

The Ouse Burn is at a high level here but it has been higher
note the high water mark litter on the left. A groundsman told me that he had seen the water
flood over to the hedgerow on the left.
This Gosforth Golf Course, like the Newcastle Golf Course before it, and parts of
The Great North Park are flood plains that spread the shock of a torrential downpour
so that housing estates downstream are not flooded.
