The next crossing carries the A191 Scotswood to Whitley Bay road over the Ouse Burn.
This is one view of the upstream side and :-

and this from the other side.

The crossing is quite busy above the Ouse Burn, because three roads join at a mini roundabout
on one side, and three at a mini roundabout on the other.
The white pickup with a trailer carrying an orange wood chipper is on the bridge.

This is a Google Earth view of the crossing, it enters at the top at about 1 O'clock,
and exits at the bottom at about 6 O'clock. The 6 roads plainly visible, the burn not so.

This is the downstream side of the crossing. The Ouse Burn now enters Jesmond Dene.
This is an update made on the 12th January 2013.
Nevil Tomlin, a member of the Regent Bridge Club, showed me a photograh of an engraving
from a book
SKETCHES OF THE COAL MINES IN NORTHUMBERLAND AND DURHAM
BY T. H. HAIR,
here it is:

I went to South Gosforth and with some difficulty took a photograph:

It is a bit dark so using Photoshop I altered brightness and contrast to get:

The old bridge on the right in the engraving is still there incorporated in the new bridge
Thankyou Nevil for another crossing of the Ouse Burn.
