The Glasshouse Bridge was built in 1878, this is an upstream view.
It is a solid brick construction like the Byker Road Bridge which opened the same year.

Another upstream view including the upstream half of the Ouseburn Barrage,
which along with the downstream half can form a lock that can keep Ouseburn full of water
covering up the unsightly mud. The Barrage is open in this photograph.

This is the top of the bridge, the A186 Walker Road.

Downstream view of the bridge including the downstream half of the Barrage
and the public house.
