This web site documents a journey down the Ouse Burn photographing the crossings of it.
I have to take the dog "Bobby" for a walk every day and normally I pick up litter
but it is good to have a bit of variety, so this journey. It took several weeks.
Before we begin the journey we look at a sculpture on the Newcastle sports stadium.

It is two tapered half tubes back to back joined by a wiggerly bit of metal
surrounded by an oval curb, on the curb are names of places:

CALLERTON

WOOLSINGTON

BRUNTON

GOSFORTH

JESMOND DENE

OUSEBURN VALLEY
The wiggerly bit of metal is the Ouse Burn,
it is about 35m underground in the culvert below.
This is The Ouseburn Monument.

This little green pool at NZ 16766820 might be the source of the Ouse Burn,
but on the day I was there, there was no running water, the ground was frozen solid.
These photographs have been reduced from 12Mpixels to 0.24Mpixels, 50 times smaller
so that they fit on your screen with the text and download quickly. But if you click on an image
it will download the fullsize image for your delectation. Get back with your browser BACK button.

That patch of blue is Callerton pond from which the Ouse Burn flows for sure
through the reeds/grasses in the foreground.
I found 61 crossings of the Ouse Burn so there are a lot of pages in "Ouse Burn crossings"
should you want to enter at other than this first page here are links to all the pages.
