The 3Rs Cancer Research Lab is a growing research group focused on translational prostate cancer research using advanced human organoid models.

Adriana Buskin

Dr Adriana Buskin leads the 3Rs Cancer Research Lab at Newcastle University. Her research focuses on developing advanced human relevant organoid models to study prostate cancer biology, disease progression, and therapy resistance. Her work integrates stem cell biology, genome engineering, and translational cancer research to improve the relevance and ethical standards of preclinical models.

She is committed to interdisciplinary collaboration, responsible research practices, and the training of early career researchers, with the long-term aim of improving outcomes for patients with prostate cancer.

Jamie Logsdon

Jamie Logsdon is a PhD researcher in the 3Rs Cancer Research Lab working on the development of human prostate organoid models to study therapy resistance in prostate cancer. Her project focuses on generating androgen deprivation therapy resistant organoids and using these systems to screen alternative therapeutic strategies.

Her research integrates organoid culture, drug screening, advanced imaging, and transcriptomic approaches. As part of her project, she is also developing more complex co culture models to explore the contribution of immune components to prostate cancer therapy response.
