I have expertise in the development and characterisation of dye sensitised systems for solar cells and solar fuels. In particular, I have studied hybrid systems composed of a nanostructured semiconductor functionalised with a molecular dye and catalyst.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.staff.ncl.ac.uk\/anna.reynal\/files\/2015\/08\/4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-40 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.staff.ncl.ac.uk\/anna.reynal\/files\/2015\/08\/4.jpg\" alt=\"4\" width=\"505\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.staff.ncl.ac.uk\/anna.reynal\/files\/2015\/08\/4.jpg 505w, https:\/\/www.staff.ncl.ac.uk\/anna.reynal\/files\/2015\/08\/4-300x163.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.staff.ncl.ac.uk\/anna.reynal\/files\/2015\/08\/4-500x272.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 505px) 100vw, 505px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My expertise is the study of electron transfer kinetics and mechanisms in photocatalytic systems for proton and\/or CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0reduction using advanced time-resolved spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques (e.g. transient absorption spectroscopy and time correlated-single photon counting).<\/p>\n<p>I am interested in studying the influence of the molecular structure of dyes and catalysts to the overall performance of the systems.
