Canon Caroline Dick, until recently Woman Advisor in Ministry in the Durham Diocese, has withdrawn from the core group, while assuring us of her continued support and good wishes. We wish Caroline well for the future and extend our thanks to her for her generous help and support in the past; she is seen here as the celebrant at the 2002 launch of WATCH NE.

WATCH North-East is holding an open meeting in
The Tristram Room, St John's College, Durham
at the kind invitation of the warden of Cranmer Hall, Canon Anne Dyer.

Christina Rees who is the Chair of National WATCH will be speaking at the meeting on the proposed Code of Conduct regarding Women Bishops which will be put before General Synod later in February.

The plan for the evening is for a talk for half an hour or so, followed by questions and open discussion. WATCH wants to know your views.
Refreshments (drinks and nibbles) at 9pm, we hope.
All are welcome

Some of the Cranmer students are organising a brief Candlemas service which will take place in the chapel at 7pm

WATCH is the successor to the Movement for the Ordination of Women. It works to support women in ordained ministry, and campaigns for women to be made bishops. It promotes equality of opportunity for women and men and seeks to eliminate discrimination in the Church of England.

There was an Open Meeting of WATCH North East on Tuesday 21st May 2002 in St Margaret's Church, Scotswood.
The organizers were: Sue Faulkner (then Curate of St Margaret's, Scotswood) and Ann & Chris Petrie (formerly Newcastle WATCH and, before that, MOW contacts)

You can buy WATCH tea-towels, T-shirts, sweatshirts and other items from national WATCH, see — the aprons are no longer available as far as we know.
