Jahr
and Fuchs first showed that
polyoxometalates can be obtained by
alkaline hydrolysis of metal
alkoxides.
We
have extended this work and shown that
metal alkoxides can be used as the source
of metal oxide, and monotungstate as the
source of anionic charge in the
preparation of a range of hexanuclear
tungstate derivatives.
