Unix Support

The ISS Unix team provide resources and support for users and administrators of Unix systems (such as Sun Solaris and Linux) on campus.

Services

• Linux Workstations for general computing tasks, found across campus.
• Time Sharing Systems for general usage and remote access from off-campus.
• Batch Processing Service for large, CPU intensive jobs.
• High Performance Computing supercluster, for resource intensive computational jobs that are not suitable for the batch processing service.
• Subversion Server for document/source code revision control and collaboration.
• Public FTP service.
• The FTP mirror service for fast, local access to Linux and Solaris software and patches.
