Big Bang NE 2012

The Big Bang North East is a regional celebration for younger scientists and engineers. This year's event tooks place at Newcastle University and I was there to help judge the CREST award entries from all over the North East. As well as the competitions, the day also had hands-on activities and inspirational talks from local industry and universities, all aimed at encouraging participation in science and engineering.

Cafe Culture North East

Café Culture is a series of events which aim to generate discussion, debate and a convivial atmosphere. Held in central Newcastle upon Tyne, they seek to provide a space for people to think, share ideas and to have a lively and inclusive discussion.

The events are a collaboration between the NE England branch of the British Science Association, The Institute for Public Policy Research North, New Writing North, Newcastle Philosophy Society and Peals. I currently sit on the steering committee, representing the British Science Association.
