Postgraduates

Aniela Morris: "My thesis, provisionally entitled "The Simple Life: Green Utopias in German Language Texts from the 1970s and 1980s", will be dealing with contrasting representations of nature and images of 'the simple life' in both literary and non-literary texts. I am intending to focus on women writers (eg. Gudrun Pausewang, Marlen Haushofer, Christa Wolf) as I believe that an emphasis on women's perceptions of and relationships with/to nature would make for a fascinating angle, putting traditional (male) attitudes towards nature and 'the simple life' into a new context."
