Redrawing and Ironing

• It is not possible to make tall slender cups in a single operation

• Reducing a cup to a smaller diameter is possible

  • this is called redrawing

• Conversely use a punch/die spacing less than the sheet thickness

  • this is ironing
  • used for drinks cans
