Now you are sure the text is suitable, you need to find the key points.

When you read a text in English class, the teacher usually gives you questions to answer, to help you focus on these key points.

Unfortunately, this will not happen during your academic studies. In this case you have to decide what the key points are. The best way to do this is to decide what you want to learn from a text and to set yourself some questions

• write your own questions
• find and note the answers
• check you understand

In this activity you will use the complete version of the text, which has been divided into three sections.

Note: Please do not use a dictionary when completing this activity. Some difficult words have been removed and definitions have been provided for others.
