What time does it start?<\/strong> You can start between 12:15 and 1:30pm- there will be group starts every 15 min.<\/p>\n

Do I need to register?\u00a0<\/strong> No just come along on the day and give your name at the desk<\/p>\n

What if I want my run timed?<\/strong>\u00a0 Register on the day at the desk at the start where you will be given a timing chip.\u00a0 Return the chip when you finish.<\/p>\n

How far is one lap?<\/strong>\u00a0 The lap is\u00a00.81 mile- it’s a simple loop round the outside of the park- see ‘the course’ page.<\/p>\n

What if I can’t run?<\/strong>\u00a0 No worries, just walk or walk\/run, whatever you can manage.<\/p>\n

Is there somewhere I can leave my stuff?<\/strong> You can leave a bag at the start\/finish area -there will be people there all the time but please don’t bring valuables as we can’t guarantee their safety.<\/p>\n

Are there toilets?<\/strong>\u00a0 There are toilets\u00a0at the caf\u00e9 but these are only available for customers.<\/p>\n

Where will the timed results be?<\/strong> There will be a link to the results each week on this site.<\/p>\n

What about the leaderboard?<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, there is a leaderboard showing total runs, PBs, fastest man and woman\u00a0etc.\u00a0 If you don’t want your results to be included in the leaderboard just email us to opt out.<\/p>\n

What if I didn’t use a timing chip?<\/strong>\u00a0 Your results won’t appear. You can still keep track yourself as an incentive if you like.<\/p>\n

Where can I shower afterwards?<\/strong>\u00a0 There is a list of facilities on the ‘where can I shower?’ page.\u00a0 If you know of other showers staff\/postgrads can use, let us know.<\/p>\n

Will the caf\u00e9 be open?<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, and they are offering a 10% discount for participants.<\/p>\n

What if I can’t come the first week?<\/strong> Doesn’t matter. come along whichever weeks suit you.<\/p>\n

What happens after week 4?<\/strong>\u00a0 If the run is popular, we propose to go on with weekly informal runs with timing offered once a month.<\/p>\n

Will the results feed into the REF?<\/strong>\u00a0 The Stern report recommended\u00a0that athletic performance be considered at a Departmental or Unit of Assessment level- individual results will doubtless feed into the algorithm (joke!).<\/p>\n
