2020

Welcome to Yalan He, who has started her PhD with us, after completing her MSc in Drug Chemistry at Newcastle University.

Our PCCP publication, “Quantifying the hygroscopic properties of cyclodextrin containing aerosol for drug delivery to the lungs”, is selected by the Editors as a 2020 HOT PCCP article. C.P.F. Day, A. 2019

The group attended the 9th Chemical Nanoscience Symposium Newcastle
(CNSN-IX) and MChem student Kate Wildish-Jones presented a poster on her
research project. Kate also presented her poster at the Annual Northern Universities
Meeting on Chemical Physics XXIX in Newcastle.

This year Droplets 2019 was held at Durham University. AEC was part of the organising committee, leading the Aerosols theme, and was invited as a keynote speaker.

Kate Wildish-Jones begins her PhD with the group. She has an EPSRC DTP
Studentship and is jointly supervised between Engineering and Chemistry.

Many congratulations to Dr Anatolij Miloserdov who has completed his viva
and successfully defended his thesis.

2018

AEC gave an invited talk at Sunderland University and an Institute of Physics public lecture at Northumbria University.

The group attended the 8th Chemical Nanoscience Symposium Newcastle (CNSN-8) and AEC gave an invited talk.

Calum Day gave an invited talk on our research at the International Conference on Functional Nanomaterials and Nanodevices in Vienna, Austria.

We’ll be returning again to Edinburgh with our interactive Amazing Aerosols! stand for the Festival of Physics (IoP).

2017

The group will be at the Institute of Physics, Festival of Physics in Edinburgh this year with our interactive Amazing Aerosols! stand.

AEC gave an invited talk at the 7th International Multidisciplinary Conference on Optofluidics in Singapore

Anatolij Miloserdov gave an oral presentation on our research and attended the Optical trapping and Optical Manipulation XIV conference in San Diego, USA. The research was published in Proc. SPIE 10347.
