Aidan is a 4 x 400 MHz processor Sun Enterprise 450 with 4GB of real memory. The aidan service is scheduled to be augmented by an additional machine of identical specification.
These services are suitable for compute-intensive work beyond the capability of the Unix workstations. They are also suitable for remote access to a Unix system, for example via dial-up or while working at a PC.
A DNQS batch processing service for jobs requiring processing time beyond normal interactive operation is hosted on Aidan, Finan, and a dedicated multiprocessor Sun server.
11 MHz Linux workstations, distributed in clusters on campus.
