You just won a scholarship to study English in another country! You and your partner must decide which country you would like to study in. Then you will give a presentation (8-10 min.) to the class about your country.

To get started, follow these steps:

1. Scan through each page and watch the videos about each country.

You may also click on the links to practice or learn new vocabulary.

Be sure to listen to the accents of people from that country.

2. Discuss together and answer these questions:

Which country seems the most interesting to study in?

Does the local accent of the people affect your decision?

Are there other factors (personal experiences with the country, things you know about the country from other sources, family connections, etc.) that affect your decision?

3. After you have chosen your country go back and read about it in more detail and watch the video again.

Are there any interesting facts about the country that you would like to include in your presentation?

What are some activities you could do in your free time while you are there? (Use the videos for ideas.)

4. Go to the Links page and choose a school. Get an idea of the prices of the school and the flight ticket.

Don't buy any tickets - this is just for fun!

5. Prepare your presentation. Make sure you:

-answer all the questions above.

-check your grammar and try to include some of the new vocabulary in your presentation.

-give each person a chance to speak the same amount of time. You can speak one at a time or switch back and forth.

-practice your pronunciation and speak clearly and loudly.

-speak naturally and don't read too much from your notes.

-have enough to say for 8-10 minutes for each pair (4-5 minutes each).

6. Good luck and now get to work!
