What you will find here

Here you will find a collection of exercises I created while experimenting with Hot Potatoes 6 for my CALL module on the MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL programme at Newcastle University. Hot Potatoes 6 is an authoring tool that helps teachers create interactive computer-based exercises. The web pages themselves are the results of endless trial-and-error work with Dreamweaver CS3. Dreamweaver is a software for website creation.

Having never heard of Hot Potatoes nor Dreamweaver, I was a true novice at the start of the semester. Hopefully the exercises you will see here and the pages you will click through will prove that in the short course of my CALL module I have acquired a basic command of these two authoring tools.

On the left, you will see links to my Hot Potatoes 6 exercises (i.e. hotpotatoes), and below you can read some personal notes.

Struggles of the semester

crying

At the very moment of typing this, I am in the third week of my MA programme. I have no idea how to design this web page, let alone my entire website. I guess I will just visit a former student's website for inspiration and help on what I am supposed to aim for: http://www.students.ncl.ac.uk/s.strigel2

Yes, I think now at least I have a visual concept in my head. See more ....
