What you will find here

On the left, you will find links to HotPotatoes 6 exercises that I designed for ESL/EFL students. Unlike in the previous hotpotatoes where I was simply practicing the technical steps of creating an exercise, here I started considering the pedagogical value of the exercises as well. To evaluate the pedagogical value of these exercises, here are some questions to consider:

  • Who is the target audience for the exercise?
  • What is the purpose of the exercise: to teach, to practice or to test something?
  • What does the exercise intend to teach/practice/test?
  • How is the exercise intented to be used: whole class teaching, individual/pair/group work, preparatory work for a class, follow-up work for a class, self-teaching, etc.
  • What do you think the advantages and/or drawbacks of putting it on the computer or the web are?
