Prespeaking
The exercise below is designed for adult community EFL learners at a beginner level. Students in such classes are usually - but not always - newly arrived immigrants or refugees who need to learn "survival English" to get on their feet in their new home as soon as possible. This exercise is meant to provide students with a model for giving directions based on an authentic map. Once students fill in the blanks, they will work in pairs and use this model to create their own dialogues.
