Ideas for your Essay

 

1) Ideas are important; they give you the meat of your essay (no matter if it's an Extended Writing Assignment (EWA) or a Timed Writing Test (TWT).

 

2) Ideas for both sides of the argument should be equal in number to show a balanced discussion; if you write about 2 advantages for "...controlling the population", then you should also write about 2 disadvantages for "...controlling the population".

 

3) Ideas should be clear. Don't try to put too many ideas into your essay, and definitely don't try to put too many ideas into one paragraph.
