November: Toni gives a Nanolab lunchtime seminar at Newcastle University http://www.ncl.ac.uk/nanolab/

September: Calum begins his PhD in the group with a Research Excellence Academy PhD Studentship from Newcastle University.

September: Toni is successful in an RSC grant for a public lecture during Chemistry week 2016 hosted by the RSC Newcastle Upon Tyne and North East Coast Section.

July: Richard Hunter starts in the lab on a summer project.

July: Toni joins the Royal Society of Chemistry at the Big Bang event, Northumbria University.

June: Law Bruce joins us for 8 weeks on a project with a Royal Society Undergraduate Research Bursary.

June: Calum Day starts work in the group over the summer.

February: Alan Reed begins his physics lab project for the foundation year of his degree.

February: MChem students Charlotte Bradbury and Helen Wilson start work in the lab on their final year projects.

February: Our application for a SAgE Doctoral Training Award for a studentship with supervisors Dr Gillian Butler (Agriculture, Food and Rural Development), Dr Roy Sanderson (Biology) and Dr Toni Carruthers (Chemistry) was successful.
