Funding for international candidates through school/faculty/university is generally highly competitive. Look out for funding announcements in the News/Events section. If you are already funded by your institution/government or other funding agencies, please mention that clearly in your PhD application.

Internship/Exchange

Our Lab supports national and international intersnhips/exchange programmes. In the past we have hosted interns through Erasmus, Commonwealth and University visiting fellowship schemes. Please discuss your internship opportunities with us (e-mail: rishad dot shafik at newcastle dot ac dot uk).

Independent Research

A number of schemes, including Newton Fellowship, Royal Society Fellowship, Leverhulme Trust Fellowship and EPSRC Visiting Fellowship, enable researchers to work at an institution of their choice independently or otherwise. If you are interested in these schemes, please contact us.
