WICKED WAXWORKS

John Wellington Wells, the sorcerer, brings to life the waxworks of Grimsby and Gertrude Grice so that they can commit burglaries. His love potion also causes problems between the central couple of Edwin and Angelina...

A lively, funny show with magic, romance, fighting and plenty of 'in-jokes' for a G&S audience! Enjoyed by all ages.

THE PHILANDERER

Bertie Smith, impersonating a Scottish doctor and a Welsh poet, woos two women, unaware that they are step-sisters. When both of his characters are invited to tea simultaneously he hatches a cunning plan to fool them with his friends Fred, a doctor, and David, a poet...

A fast-moving farce set in the 1920s, this is an ideal curtain-raiser, as it has no chorus and requires very little in the way of a set.

MODERN GIRLS

Jenny (upper class) and Lucy (working class) return from University filled with ideas of Feminism and Equality. They are followed by their 'opposite class' boyfriends: Albert (working class) and Nigel (upper class). The question then arises: are the girls as modern as they seem?

A curtain-raiser with only one set and no chorus, this is a satire on extreme political views, with the men definitely coming off worst!

THE WRECKERS OF RED ROCK

Maximillian Blackheart forces the women of Red Rock village to wreck ships for him, not fearing the cowardly local Revenuemen. However, in fulfillment of a prophecy, a heroic stranger arrives in the village to win the heart of Maximillian'’s love and change the lives of everyone forever...

Packed with incredible coincidences, this is the 'ultimate melodrama', and a real crowd-pleaser. Good opportunities for over-the-top acting and plenty of fun for the women as the villains of the piece!

One and two act versions of the show exist (the same principals are used, but the plot is a little simpler in the shorter version!):

ROBIN HOOD AND HIS MERRY PERSONS

Robin Hood, a well-meaning socialist, and the Sheriff of Nottingham, a hard-hearted Conservative, are unhappy with their lot, and their women! The Sheriff's maid persuades them to change places for a month, with disastrous consequences!

This is a satirical musical, rooted in Monty Python and Blackadder, that provides a wide range of principal parts, as well as explaining the foundation of Parliamentary democracy! A score for small orchestra (2 violins, viola, ‘cello, flute and clarinet) is available.

MUTINY ON THE PINAFORE

The long-awaited sequel to H.M.S. Pinafore! Reprimanding Captain Rackstraw for encouraging too much equality, Sir Joseph refuses to shake Edward Corcoran's hand at his wedding to Little Buttercup. Edward punches him and is condemned to hang, provoking a mutiny and leading to the revelation of a long-held secret...

Bringing together the familiar characters in a new story based on the Bab Ballads, this show finally explains how Edward Corcoran rises from the rank of Able Seamen at the end of Pinafore to the rank of Captain in Utopia Ltd.! Mixing familiar and unfamiliar songs, this show has proved to be a big hit with audiences.

HUMBUG!

A musical version of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol', following the text the author himself used for public readings. It is semi-staged, with extensive narration preserving much of the wonderful prose, and incorporating traditional carols that could be sung by cast or audience. Requirin minimal rehearsal and staging, this is the perfect festive show, combining the best carols, the best songs and the best Christmas story ever written!
