    Contents of accompanying PC disk

This text book has been produced to show the important influence of turbomachinery duty points (Flow and work coefficients) upon both the selection and general performance analysis of turbomachines, and to provide a methodology for an integrated approach to the teaching of turbomachines at degree level or for graduate trainees, linking dimensional analysis to detailed aerodynamic or fluid-dynamic design. The PC disk supplied with this text provides a powerful teaching tool for student turbomachinery design and project work.

There are three programs given on the disk that give the student access to a range of design functions. Click below for some pictorial examples of these.

  • FIPSI
  • - For selection of overall stage duty and velocity triangles.
  • CASCADE
  • - For selection of turbomachine cascade geometry and flow analysis.
  • STACK
  • - For profile design and stacking of a turbomachine blade.
