Bismuth precursors.

Alkoxides Bi(OR)₃ Bi1-Bi4 with the alkoxide groups 1-4 were prepared from BiCl₃or Bi(NMe₂)₃.²

Bi1 is polymeric in the solid state³ and dimeric in solution,⁴ while Bi4 forms a dimeric alcohol adduct, and both contain 5-coordinate Bi. 1H NMR spectra show that these compounds are dynamic in solution, and alkoxide interchange occurs readily.
