Bismuth precursors.
Alkoxides Bi(OR)3 Bi1-Bi4 with the alkoxide groups 1-4 were prepared from BiCl3 or Bi(NMe2)3.2
Bi1 is polymeric in the solid state3 and dimeric in solution,4 while Bi4 forms a dimeric alcohol adduct, and both contain 5-coordinate Bi. 1H NMR spectra show that these compounds are dynamic in solution, and alkoxide interchange occurs readily.
